STERILIZATION

Human Kanvas uses the Highest Standards of Sterilization and cross contamination prevention procedures possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask. The following are some of the procedures we follow to make your tattoo appointment the safest possible:

- Autoclave Sterilization is used on all implements at our studio.
- Autoclave testing is done once per month by an independent lab to ensure proper working order.
- Each item is sterilized and sealed in its own package and not opened until you are seated in the chair. Each package has and indicator to verify that it has been processed.
- Each individual cycle in the Autoclave is tested with comply test strips to ensure proper sterilization conditions have been met.
- Tattooists at Human Kanvas are members of the Association of Professional Tattooists (APT) and have obtained the blood Bourne pathogens certificate.
- All items that might be touched during a tattoo or piercing procedure are covered in plastic to prevent cross contamination.
- All Tattoo & Piercing needles are Autoclaved and are single use. (Needles have to be sterilized even though they are only used once)
- Once items have been Autoclaved they are stored in a sterile environment until they are to be used.
- Used Needles are disposed of promptly after each appointment into a biohazard sharps container.
- Disinfectant is used to change over the work area after every client.
